Ebay is an online autioning site where you can buy and sell ANYTHING (this is not quite true a woman put herself up for aution to marry the highest paying man but was removed) you can do anything from services such as webdesign and window cleaning, to home made goods, clothes, food, condoms, houses and cars.

(in the case of condoms and the like private autions can be run where no-one else can find out who the bidders are so no-one knows if you are buying kinky underwear and handcuffs as well as baby clothes)

You can search as browse all these items at a click of the mouse, with photo's hyperlinks and html in adverts.

I first joined ebay in 2002 but didnt really look at it or do anything until late last year. Hubby and I had alot of things just taking up room so we looked into selling on Ebay and that is how it started!

It is very easy to join up with ebay, you have two options. Either use an email address from a service provider e.g BT or NTL or use a different email address and put a credit or debit card on file. I think this is just to verify you and they dont use the card details for anything else.

They only need a few bits from you, name, address, phone number and they also want you to provide a username and password so that you can log into ebay.

After you have registered you can start to buy and sell. If you want to sell on ebay you can either put a credit or debit card on file or you can pay your ebay selling fees via a cheque or postal order or by direct debit.
