Krypto the Superdog, Vol. 1: Cosmic Canine- has always been a favorite of mine.Through out the movie, Ty Olsson simply shines. Ellen Kennedy actually caught my interest too.

I think Ty Olsson and Ellen Kennedy worked wonderful in Krypto the Superdog, Vol. 1: Cosmic Canine. The great supporting cast includes Ty Olsson, Ellen Kennedy, Danny McKinnon, Tabitha St. Germain, Kelly Sheridan.

Summary of Krypto the Superdog, Vol. 1: Cosmic Canine:
The canine member of the Superman family got his own Cartoon Network series in 2005, and the first volume, Cosmic Canine, is a random collection of five 12-minute episodes (including the two-part opener). We meet Krypto, the pet of Kal-El who was also sent to Earth before Krypton exploded and who discovers the Earth's yellow sun gives him amazing powers such as flight, strength, and heat vision. The opener features a cameo by Superman, long enough to agree to Krypto's staying with an Earth boy named Kevin. Krypto's challenges include saving a ship full of zoo animals, battling a Kryptonian superflea, dealing with a giant caterpillar, and saving a helpless (or so he thinks) kitten from a pack of super-powered dogs called the Dog Stars. Krypto's contributing talent includes Alan Burnett and Paul Dini of the well-regarded Superman and Batman animated series, but it's aimed at a much younger crowd. I really loved the movie True Heart/Courage Mountain: Heidi's New Adventure. I really enjoyed watching Juliette Caton in this movie. I also think Joanna Clarke was great!

Summary of True Heart/Courage Mountain: Heidi's New Adventure:
Kirsten Dunst demonstrates her star charisma in True Heart. Dunst and Zachery Ty Bryan star as twins whose plane has crashed in the Canadian wilderness, where they are rescued by a Native American named Khonanesta (August Schellenberg). Khonanesta is fighting to save a giant Kodiak bear from villainous poachers (we know they're bad because their leader has a claw for a hand). Though initially suspicious, the kids soon join him in his struggle, and in turn his simple wisdom helps them resolve their grief over their dead father. Dunst is a naturally engaging actress, but her efforts are thrown away on this clumsily written bundle of clichs. Aside from the bear--because who can resist a great big bear--the rest of the cast flounders. --Bret Fetzer

You'd never guess it from the title, but Courage Mountain is a sequel to children's classic, Heidi. In this handsome production, filmed in Europe and set during World War I, a teenaged Heidi (Juliette Caton) leaves Switzerland to attend school in Italy. Things go wrong from the start. The other girls make fun of her country ways, then the school is seized by the army. Due to a misunderstanding, Heidi and several classmates are separated from their beloved headmistress (Leslie Caron) and sent to an Oliver Twist-like orphanage. Fortunately, they're able to escape. Using her mountaineering skills, Heidi leads them on an expedition across the Alps to her grandfather's house. Charlie Sheen, who plays her sweetheart Peter, acquits himself nicely as a soldier who assists the girls, but his American accent sounds out of place. Odd casting aside, this family adventure is faithful to the spirit of the original story. --Kathleen C. Fennessy
